Augmented and virtual reality applications

Synchronized augmented reality

Within the virtual and augmented reality applications we have performed, here we show the tests developed for the European project ICARE. The main challenge to be faced is the synchronization of various multimedia contents that are being played on different devices. The way to access the extra content is through the widespread augmented reality.

Thus, during the playback of a movie, we can access all kinds of information related to it, from metadata such as director, actors, etc. until curiosities about the scenes that are appearing on the screen. But not only that, we can also see from our mobile devices new scenes that may be recorded from another perspective or in another location but are happening at the same time in the movie. There must therefore be a great deal of work behind the scriptwriters and the director to create a story that comes out of conventional linearity.

In the next video you can see how to interact with the main movie from our mobile devices through a photo or image, which will be the gateway to our augmented reality application. Once inside the application, we can see all kinds of content synchronized from the secondary screen.
