Motivation

Nowadays, it is quite common, mainly in the fintech sector, to validate the identity of the users by using a video where the user records himself with his ID card. The proposed solution tries to tackle the problem of identity theft by replacing the original video for a fake one. First of all, by using Blockchain, you can guarantee the integrity of the original video, and secondly and more important, it enables to implement a Self-Sovereign Identity scheme. By using this scheme, it is possible to generate a proof of identity once this video has been recorded, so the user can proof to other parties that he has passed this particular identity-validation process.
