Second meeting of the MAtchUP project in Antalya

On April 26 and 27, the second follow-up meeting of the MAtchUP project was held in the city of Antalya (Turkey). Antalya is one of the three lighthouse cities of the project, along with Valencia (Spain) and Dresden (Germany).

The meeting was coordinated by Valencia, and the 28 partners from 8 different countries assisted. The project is divided into 9 work packages. The Valencia demo is part of the WP2, in which the Universitat Politècnica de València (expert in ICT) is present together with other partners in Valencia: Las Naves (responsible for the definition of business and financial models), Valencia City Council (definition of the actions), KVELOCE (citizen participation and social strategy), ITE (energy), ETRA (mobility), WITRAC (development of smart meters) and CARTIF (development of non-technical actions).

On the first day, Valencia started the meeting as coordinator presenting the status of the project and the work plan. Next, several partners reported the status of the work packages WP1, WP5, WP6, WP7 and WP8, describing the tasks performed, the deliverables and the next steps.

After reviewing the WPs, workshops were held to validate project indicators, define additional indicators and discuss the availability of data for the indicators.

In the afternoon, the three lighthouse cities showed their advances in the model of urban transformation in their own city in aspects such as mobility, energy and ICT.

To finish the first day, we visited the works of the future smart city of Antalya and had dinner at one of the best restaurants in Antalya.

The second day began with the presentation of the financial and legal status of the project by the partner Las Naves.

And later, parallel workshops were held to deal with each of the aspects of the smart city, mobility, energy and ICT. The UPV participated in the ICT workshop, where each city described the open smart city platform that it is developing and the next actions planned. This workshop was very interesting since the ideas of each city converged and aspects to be improved were discussed, such as the repercussion that the new data protection law (GDPR) will have for the project.

To conclude the second day and the follow-up meeting, Antalya invited us to tour the city visiting the maritime zone and the city center.

The follow-up meeting was very productive, as the progress of each city was seen and each of the smart city platforms were put together (ICT platform, Open Data, Open APIs, Big Data, Security, IoT adapters, Integration and Interoperability), indicators, technical, economic and social objectives, energy models (smart tenant, smart home, adaptive public lighting) and mobility (IoT monitoring, eco-driving patterns, charging systems, electronic panels).

We continue collaborating in Dresden in December!
